Canada Day Long Weekend Wrap-Up

We celebrated this past long weekend with a lot of family time and spending the majority of it outdoors!! We FINALLY had HOT summer weather and we took full advantage of it!

To be quite honest, I don't even remember what we did on Friday, so we won't count that as our weekend this time.
On to Saturday. We had a few odds and ends things to get done around the house this weekend, so we did those, along with a family trip to Costco - we went there for dog food and came back with much more than that (as the story always goes at Costco). A lot of the rest of the day was spent outside, enjoying the sun. We took the pooch out for a walk and decided it was a good day for Palmer to try out the swings at the park. I'm not sure if she loved it or hated it. Not too much expression was shown, but I think she was just really tired because right after the swings, she fell asleep in the stroller!

On Sunday, Aunty Candice came over to spend the day with us, so we spent time in the back yard for awhile, then we all went for a picnic in the park. I haven't had a picnic in years! It was nice to sit outside and watch everyone enjoy the sunshine, including the Hutterites on rollerblades!!! Afterwards, Palmer, Mitchell and I stopped for some Frosters and took Leaf for a walk. And of course, when we were done, Leaf needed a "swim" in his pool!

Monday, Canada Day, Mitch spent the morning golfing while Palmer had a nap. Then, we packed up a lunch and headed over to Henderson Pool. I had never been there before. We spend the whole afternoon swimming, eating, and swimming some more. And when that was all done, everyone had a much needed nap. That sun sure wore everyone out!!!

And, of course, at the end of the day, Leaf had to show us all how much he missed us!! Too bad Leaf couldn't go swimming with us - instead, he had to settle for his little green pool.
