B is For....A Big Surprise (With The Blue Envelope)

It's no secret that I love cute stuff for Palmer, so when the opportunity to work with The Blue Envelope came up, I jumped at the chance. If you haven't been following them yet, you must. go. now.

What I love about this pink and white baseball t-shirt is that it is perfect for all seasons! It is light enough to wear with a cute pair of shorts for the summer yet has long enough sleeves to be comfortable with some cute jeans for those cooler winter months.

The Blue Envelope was created by Mandy and Kelsie, and they started designing childrens apparel after they had their 3 children. The idea behind their business is the best ever!

"Our goal is to raise our children to reach for the moon and that their possibilities are endless. We hope that through our new line we can encourage your little ones to be dreamers and believers that anything is possible. We will be posting new designs often as we continue to be inspired by the imaginations of little ones!"

They have the greatest sayings on their shirts, like "M is for Miracle" and "Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful."

But, when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it! It really was the most perfect shirt....

...to announce we are expecting again! Palmer is going to be a big sister this Fall!
Isn't this THE cutest Big Sister shirt you've ever seen???

My 5 Spring Things

Spring is in full swing around here and I am loving it. The beautiful weather, the sunshine, the pretty spring colours. I love it all!!  So, what better way to end my week than with my 5 favorite spring things?

ONE:
Palmer learning to ride her bike. We have been out almost every nice day to practice and she is finally catching on to the whole pedaling thing! She will be tearing up the sidewalk in no time!!!

TWO:
Pretty spring flowers. Nothing says spring like some fresh Tulips. I love the pop of colour they give the house, not to mention, they're pretty!

THREE:
This shirt! I was drawn to the colour first, and I love simple. But I like that this one is different; not a typical t-shirt. It's light and airy, and the slouch neck gives it a different look. And I love the tie on the bottom. I think this will be getting a lot of use over the spring and summer. I might eve go back for more colours!

FOUR:
Tanks tops and sunglasses. For some reason I seem to have way more tank tops in my closet than anything else, so now I get to start wearing them!

FIVE:
All the cute little girl clothes out right now! Old Navy and Gap are killing it! Palmer scored a bunch of super cute stuff from Grandma!!!

Raising A Strong Girl

Parenting is hard.

Raising a daughter is beautiful and scary at the same time. This is a tough world to navigate, so guiding her in the right direction is something I think every parent strives for.

You do everything you can to create a strong foundation for the person she will become and hope that it is enough.

Teach her she can do anything she sets her mind to and provide her with the tools to make those dreams come true.

Teach her she will make mistakes, but teach her to learn from them. Sometimes we grow strongest by meeting failure.

Teach her that standing up for herself and something she believes in will direct her to success. Her opinion matters and make her voice heard.

Teach her to laugh. All you need is a smile to brighten the moment.

Teach her to set expectations for herself and live up to them and not the expectations of others.

Teach her that people are different and that is what makes us beautiful. There will never be another one of her in the world and that is perfect.

Teach her that she is enough. There will be things she is great at and others she is not so great at, but its OK. Teach her she is beautiful, inside and out. Teach her to embrace her imperfections.  Whatever she does, teach her to do it with class, elegance and grace. She will be fabulous if she is herself.

Teach her to believe in herself.

As a mother of a daughter, I want her to know she doesn't have to be the smartest. She doesn't have to be the prettiest or the best at everything. I want her to be the person she wants to be. I want her to follow her dreams. To grow to be a strong, uniquely beautiful woman.

Parents may fear they are somehow not instilling the confidence and strength in their child necessary to beat the hardships of society. But, us parents now, have the opportunity to raise strong, confident, amazing people here; we are given the opportunity to shape the world. To change the future.

The strong women of tomorrow are the ones we are raising today. My daughter, and yours.

I truly wish for my daughter as she grows, it is to be strong; to be a strong, confident, woman in this giant sized world.
